our camps:
Our camps are typically run over a 3 week period. The program is based on daily soccer coaching, designed and led by the Student Coaches, interspersed with educational and cultural activities to create a diverse and fulfilling experience for participants from both nations. We also include a rigorous training program for US participants - often at altitude - to ensure they return to preseason in peak physical condition. The camps are funded by fees paid by the US Student Coaches, with 100% of their fees going towards the running of the camp.
The program is split into two sections: The first (week 1) is dedicated to planning and acclimatization, designed to give Student Coaches from the US background knowledge, and the skills and structure they need to plan the training programs for the following weeks. The second section (weeks 2 & 3) is the delivery of the camp with local participants.
In all our programs, safety is our number one priority for our Student Coaches, Campers and Staff. We work very hard to meet this commitment by employing a wide range of safeguards from the moment participants apply to our arrival back in the U.S. Full details on our safety procedures can be downloaded here.
Alongside safety, we are also fully committed to the concept of sustainable development. Our programs are designed to ensure maximum local participation and shared benefits. Click here to read details on our commitments to sustainability and sustainable development.
La Paz, Bolivia
These camps are run during June-July. Participants from all over the US coach soccer, teach English, and help run other educational programs for a group of local female participants aged 14 to 17.
In addition to camp activities, our Student Coaches receive Spanish instruction, enjoy various cultural and recreational activities around La Paz, and experience some of the incredible natural wonders Bolivia has to offer. A centrally located and secure hotel provides accommodation for all Student Coaches and staff throughout the camp, with weekend excursions to world famous sites, such as Lake Titicaca and the Andes mountain range, providing the opportunity to explore areas beyond the city.
